Both of these drawings are made with Litho-Coal Erasable Sumi Ink. They don't make this anymore as far as I know and the bottle of solvent I had somehow dried up. So...I used water with a little bit of dish soap. Probably will work better once I get some alcohol. The last time used the litho-coal product was for my poly-litho "Tree Hugger". Unfortunately, I don't really have the facilities here to do any litho but I really think either of these would have made fantastic prints...

A new piece I worked on at the Learning & Product Expo in Lisle, IL. Great event sponsored by a great company...Blick Art Materials. This is a variety of hard and soft pastels on La Carte pastel paper a very nice sanded pastel surface.

Here is my first solarplate etching done with an aquatint screen. It made the process so much easier to actually have all of the tools. The aquatint screen is great. This print is from a pen and ink drawing.

While I have been doing quite a bit of watercolor lately, I haven't felt as if I am doing anything constructive. Yesterday, I decided that it might be nice to dust off my wacom tablet and start doing some digital studies. I figure that this may be a good way to get my visual mind working again. The Dancing Ostriches by Paula Rego have always been some of my favorites so that is what I've started with.

This is what I have after about 1-1/2 hours.
